How guided practice works
The guided test is the timed mock's form walked at reading pace: the same 63 items drawn in the same blueprint proportions, with the key and the written rationale revealed the moment you answer. There is no clock. Reading 63 explanations properly does not fit inside 120 minutes, and pretending otherwise would just train you to skip them.
Rationales explain why the key is right and, where a distractor is tempting for a reason worth naming, why it is wrong. Options are shuffled on every sitting, so the letters in a rationale are remapped to whatever position the option actually landed in on your screen.
When to use this instead of the timed mock
- Early on, when you are still learning the shape of CCAR-P questions and a bare score would tell you nothing you could act on.
- After a mock has found a weak domain, when you want the reasoning rather than another measurement of the same gap.
- In short sittings, because it saves after every item and picks up where you left off.
Everything you answer here still counts where counting is useful. Guided sittings feed your attempt history, objective and domain mastery, coverage of the 200-item pool, and the mistakes deck, which collects anything you got wrong for a second pass later.
Can I change an answer after seeing the explanation?
No. An item is checked when you answer it and the result is recorded, which keeps the mastery figures honest. Anything you miss lands in the mistakes deck, so a wrong answer here buys you a second attempt at that exact item later rather than costing you one.
Is this the same question pool as the timed mock?
The same 200 items, sampled the same way. The difference is entirely in the clock and in when you are shown the key.
Once the question shape has stopped surprising you, the timed mock is the one that tells you where you actually stand.
