Model Selection and Optimization
The largest domain after applications, and the one with the most arithmetic in it. It runs from how a window is shared between prompt and answer, through the transport and client behaviour a developer meets daily, to picking a tier and paying for it. Caching is the densest cluster: a key is the exact prompt bytes up to a breakpoint, so anything volatile at the front destroys reuse for everything behind it. Watch for stems whose fix is a measurement rather than a setting.
